We believe community funding should create visible community benefit.
At Wei Wu Wellness CIC, we are committed to using community and public funding responsibly, transparently and for the benefit of the communities we serve.
Any grants or funding awarded for community projects are used for the purposes and activities for which they were provided.
We take our responsibility to our funders, partners and community seriously. Our aim is not simply to deliver an event and move on. We want every project to leave people with practical knowledge and self-care skills that they can continue to use in everyday life and share with their families and loved ones.
Funding → Activity → Participation → Community Benefit
We want our community, partners and funders to be able to see this journey clearly.
Our Funded Community Projects
Heathrow Take Off Fund — April 2026
Our first funded community wellbeing project was supported by the Heathrow Take Off Fund and delivered in Harmondsworth in April 2026.
The project enabled us to bring practical health and wellbeing education directly to people living in and around the Heathrow area.
Participants were introduced to YSD Medicine principles and practical approaches to everyday self-care. The programme included health education, demonstrations, gentle movement and opportunities for people to learn techniques they could continue practising at home.
The event was designed around one simple idea:
Give people practical knowledge they can take home with them.
The response from the community encouraged us to continue developing this work.
Community-Supported Wellbeing Event —
Harmondsworth, October 2026
Something very special happened following our first Harmondsworth event.
A local Harmondsworth resident who had seen the value of the April programme felt strongly that the community should not have to wait for another public funding opportunity before receiving further health education. She chose to privately support a second community wellbeing event so that we could return to Harmondsworth and continue the work. With her support, we delivered another free YSD Medicine Health and Wellbeing community event in October 2026.
For us, this was an important sign of community trust.
It showed that someone within the community had experienced work, understood its potential value and wanted to help make it available to others.
We are deeply grateful for this support.
Our Impact so far, April – Oct 2026:
49 Participants Reached | 2 Free Community Events | 2 Projects Delivered
Location: Harmondsworth and communities surrounding Heathrow
We are developing relationships with local health, voluntary and community organisations and exploring partnerships and future funding opportunities that could enable us to deliver more health education and wellbeing workshops across Hillingdon and communities surrounding Heathrow. Our ambition is to make practical health education more accessible — particularly for people who may benefit from learning simple ways to support their wellbeing in everyday life.
We welcome conversations with community organisations, funders, local services and others who share this vision.
Our Commitment to Transparency
Wei Wu Wellness CIC is a Community Interest Company established to create benefit for the community.
We are committed to appropriate governance, responsible use of funding and clear separation between CIC-funded community activities and private or commercial activities. Where a project is supported by a particular funder or donor, we aim to acknowledge that support clearly and explain what the funding enabled us to deliver.
We will continue to develop our impact reporting as the organisation grows.#
Welcoming Our Local MP
We were deeply honoured to welcome John McDonnell MP to our free community wellbeing event in Harmondsworth on 17 October 2026.
John kindly took time from his busy schedule to officially open our event. What particularly touched and impressed us was that he did not simply open the event and leave — he stayed with us throughout the entire morning presentation, from 11:00 am until approximately 1:30 pm. During this time, he listened to our introduction to YSD Medicine, our approach to practical health education, real-life experiences and demonstrations, and our vision for bringing accessible self-care knowledge into more communities. We greatly appreciated the time and attention he gave to understanding our work. To bring practical health education into more communities, we
need dialogue and collaboration between residents, community organisations, health and voluntary-sector partners, funders and public representatives.
We are very grateful to John for joining our community, officially opening the event and spending the morning with us. For a small and growing Community Interest Company like us, this kind of engagement is deeply encouraging.
What Does Community Funding Make Possible?
Funding and community support allow us to bring practical wellbeing education to people who might otherwise have limited opportunities to access it.
Depending on the project, funding can support:
- Free or subsidised community health education
- Venue and workshop costs
- YSD Medicine self-care education and demonstrations
- Tai Chi, Qigong and gentle movement activities
- Educational materials and practical resources
- Qualified practitioners and facilitators
- Volunteer support
- Community outreach and promotion
- Monitoring, feedback and evaluation
We aim to use these resources to create something that lasts beyond the event itself: knowledge, confidence and practical skills that people can continue using in their
everyday lives.
Measuring Our Community Impact
As Wei Wu Wellness CIC grows, we are developing a clear picture of the difference our work is making. Rather than publishing funding amounts, we believe the most
meaningful measures are what the funding enables us to achieve.
We will monitor and report measures such as:
- Projects delivered.
- The number of funded and community-supported projects we deliver.
- People reached - The number of people participating in our workshops, events and educational activities.
- Communities served - The neighbourhoods and communities in which we are working.
- Volunteer contribution - The valuable time contributed by volunteers who help make our community activities possible.
- Participant experience and outcomes - Feedback about what people learned, what they found useful and whether they feel more confident using practical self-care approaches after participating.
- Community partnerships - The organisations, community groups and local partners working with us to extend the reach of our programmes. As our evidence grows, we will publish updated impact information here.
